Contact Us

Hello, and thanks for getting in touch. Whether you have a question about the PAYE calculator, found something that looks wrong or just want to say hi, I would like to hear from you. I read every message myself, and this page explains the best way to reach me so I can help you quickly.

How can I contact SmartPAYE.nz?

The easiest way is by email. You can write to me at [email protected]. You can also use the contact form on this page. Fill in your name, your email address and your message, and it will come straight to my inbox.

Please use an email address you check regularly, because that is where I will send my reply.

What should I include in my message?

A clear message helps me give you a clear answer. If you can, please include these details:

  • The page you were on, or a link to it
  • What you were trying to do
  • What you expected to see and what you saw instead
  • The pay period and tax year you were checking (for example, fortnightly pay for 2026/27)
  • Your device and browser, if the calculator is not working properly

You do not need to send your real salary, your name or your employer’s name. A rounded example figure is enough for me to check the calculation.

What can I help you with?

I am happy to help with:

  • Questions about how the calculator works and how to read your result
  • Reports of errors, outdated rates or broken links
  • Suggestions for new calculators, guides or features
  • Feedback about any article or explanation on the site
  • Privacy questions and requests about your information
  • Business enquiries, partnerships and advertising

If you think a number on this website is wrong, please tell me. Tax rates and rules can change, and a quick message from a visitor is often the fastest way for me to spot a problem.

What can’t I help you with?

SmartPAYE.nz is an information and estimate tool. I am not Inland Revenue, and I am not a registered tax agent or accountant. That means I cannot help with:

  • Your personal tax situation or a decision about what you should do
  • Your myIR account, IRD number, tax refund, tax return or tax debt
  • A dispute with your employer about your pay or deductions
  • Your KiwiSaver provider account or a student loan balance
  • Payroll setup for your business

For these matters, please contact Inland Revenue, your employer, your KiwiSaver provider or a qualified tax professional. They can look at your full details, which I cannot do.

How long will it take me to reply?

I try to reply within two to three working days. Some weeks are busier than others, especially around the start of a new tax year in April, when many people write in at the same time. If you have not heard from me after a week, please check your spam or junk folder, and then send your message again.

Please do not send sensitive information

This is important, so I will say it plainly. Please do not send me your IRD number, bank account details, passwords, myIR login details or copies of your payslip or ID. I do not need any of these to answer your question. If you send them by mistake, I will delete them and let you know.

I will also never ask you for a payment, a password or your IRD login. If someone claims to be from SmartPAYE.nz and asks for these, it is not me. Please do not reply, and let me know about it.

How do I report a mistake on the website?

If you spot a mistake, please email me with the page link and a short note about what looks wrong. If you can, tell me where you found the correct information, such as an Inland Revenue page. I will check it, fix it if needed and update the page. I would much rather hear about a problem early than have it stay on the site.

Can I suggest a new calculator or guide?

Yes, please do. Many of the tools and articles on this website come from questions that visitors ask. If there is a calculation you keep doing by hand, or a tax topic that confuses you or your friends, tell me about it. I cannot promise to build everything, but I read every suggestion and keep a list of ideas.

How do I make a privacy request?

If you want to see the information I hold about you, correct it or ask me to delete it, write to [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Request”. Please write from the email address you used when you contacted me, so I can find your message. You can read more about your rights in my Privacy Policy.

What about business and advertising enquiries?

If you would like to work with me, advertise on the site or suggest a partnership, please email me with a short introduction and what you have in mind. Please note that I only work with businesses that are relevant and useful to my visitors, and any paid content will always be clearly marked.

Thank you for reaching out

Every message helps make SmartPAYE.nz more accurate and easier to use. Whether it is a question, a fix or a kind word, I really appreciate you taking the time to write. I look forward to hearing from you.
